HOW WE HUNT
South Texas hunting does not get any better than at the McAllen ranch. Safety and fun is the name of the game. All of our hunts provide one on one attention, with a seasoned ranch employee guide helping you get the best hunting experience possible.
Most hunts are done by stalking deer through the brush using a variety of techniques, such as rattling antlers or sitting on senderos.
Your hunt is a “wild hunt”, meaning the deer you see roam throughout large pastures with little to no contact with humans. We do not feed protein and avoid using deer feeders entirely. Deer are raised on 100% natural forage within their natural habitat. We want your hunt to be a unique and special experience that lives up to the spirit of true hunting.
Want to enjoy your harvest at the end of the day? Not a problem. Just let us know, and we will prepare your game for lunch or dinner.
Most hunts are booked for a single party. We try not to mix multiple parties throughout the hunting week. We want you to enjoy an exclusive stay at the ranch with your invited guests and friends.
McALLEN RANCH QUAIL HUNTING
HUNTING SEASON
- Quail hunts are performed from October 1st until March 1st.
- Wild quail hunts are performed during the regular Texas season for Hidalgo County.

McALLEN RANCH WHITE-TAIL DEER HUNTING
HUNTING SEASON
White-tail deer hunts are performed from November 15th until January 10th.

A TROPHY BUCK
A trophy buck is considered to be mature (5.5+ years of age) with 140 Boone and Crocket points or more. Bucks with more than 172 Boone and Crocket points have a higher price range (please inquire).
A MANAGEMENT BUCK
A management buck is considered to be mature (4.5+ years of age) with 140 Boone and Crocket points or less. Any split tine or drop tine bucks are not considered Management Bucks.

NOT A HUNTER OR SHOOTER?
Not a problem! McAllen Ranch offers many other activities for any additional guests. Our guests can also enjoy birding, historical sightseeing, or enjoy the peace and serenity of the brush country and relax amid the luxury amenities of El Indio Lodge.
OUR LODGE
El Indio
McAllen Ranch’s El Indio Lodge provides luxury in the South Texas brush country. Filled with multiple spacious rooms, El Indio lodge can accommodate up to 10 hunters at one time. The lodge is complete with a swimming pool and a bass fishing pond within walking distance from the front door. After your hunt, lie back and relax while we prepare your meal, serving authentic South Texas cuisine.

Hunts are preferred during the weekdays.
Hunting fees change yearly, so please inquire about the most up-to-date pricing for package hunts.
We would be happy to answer any questions and help plan your stay in South Texas.
McAllen Ranch Hunting Policies:
• ALL rifles will be sighted in the afternoon before your hunt or the morning
before a day of your hunt.
• ALL animals are harvested at the legal limit provided by the State of Texas.
• ALL hunters must carry a current Texas hunting license.
• All hunts end at sundown.
• ALL hunts have NO guarantees. The first indicator of a killed or wounded animal
will be considered a confirmed kill.
• Animal processing and skinning are an additional fee.
• Animal freezer storage is provided for a fee. Three days maximum.
• Alcohol can be provided upon request at cost.

• Hunts are TWO full days, beginning at 6:30 a.m. until sun down.
• Hunting guide, vehicle, and lunches provided.
• A mature whitetail deer greater than 5.5 years old. Bucks over 173 B&C have additional pricing.
• Two whitetail does are included at no charge.
• Wild hogs and coyotes at no charge.
• Javalinas are an additional cost
• Exotics outside of their preserve are no charge.
• An additional whitetail trophy buck is additionally charged, paid in advance.
• A list of hotels in the Edinburg-Pharr area will be provided.
• 50% payment is made before arrival and the remainder paid upon arrival.
• Charge per day for all non-hunters.
• Fee: Please inquire
• Hunts are THREE NIGHTS/FOUR DAYS. Arrive at 1:30 pm on the first day, and depart at 12:00 p.m. the last day. Additional hunting days can be purchased at a per day rate.
• Personal hunting guide, vehicle, and all meals included.
• A mature whitetail deer greater than 5.5 years old. Bucks over 173 B&C have additional pricing.
• Two whitetail does are included at no charge.
• Wild hogs and coyotes at no charge.

• Exotics outside of their preserve are no charge.

• Luxury ranch accommodations at McAllen Ranch-El Indio Lodge.

• Deer harvested can be cleaned and quartered if requested.
• Your venison can be served at any meal if requested.
• A taxidermist and meat processor will be recommended if needed. Cold storage of
your animal is available for up to one week after harvest. Additional days beyond one-week storage are additionally charged per day.

• Hunts are TWO NIGHTS/THREE DAYS. Arrive after lunch hour at 1:30 pm on the first day, and depart at 12:00 p.m. on the last day. Additional hunting days can be purchased at a per day rate.
• Maximum of 5 hunters. Maximum of 4 hunters hunting at once.
• All meals, dog handler, vehicle, and guide are all included.
• Only 410, 20, and 28 breach breaking shotguns. Over and under shotguns can be provided if needed.
• Luxury ranch accommodations at McAllen Ranch-El Indio Lodge.
